The oldest of 9 children,Francesca (soon to become Kitten) knew she'd have to make it on her own,
and lost no time in doing so. The summer before her senior year in High School she got a job
working for actress Stella Stevens basically doing housework, but it put her in touch with the
world of celebrities, and the glamour made an impression on her.
Going on to trade school to learn to be a key-puch operator she soon realized
the pay wasn't enough. A friend had become a stripper and was making much more money so Francesca
decided to try her luck at a club in Pasendena called Gianone's. Quickly becoming very popular, she
was soon making $600 to $700 a week and signed up with an agency which advised her to change her name.
Being shy (!) she called herself Kitten, and the rest is history.
She entered and won the Miss Nude Universe contest two years running, in 71 & 72.
She had also made friends
with Shari Eubanks, a star in Russ Meyer's ULTRAVIXENS .
Kitten and Meyers met and he offered her a part
in UP followed by BENEATH THE VALLEY OF
THE ULTRAVIXENS (picture # 10 below is the famous photo for that movie poster). She and Meyer also began an affair that lasted for 12 years.
At this point she also began her nude modeling career, and soon her picture layouts were prominent features
in
all the men's magazines of the time. Some of her sessions with Candy Samples and Uschi Digart are still much
sought after by collectors. (See # 4 ).
Her popularity was such that in 1985 Chris Penn (the recently deceased actor) gave his brother Sean Penn a special
surpise at Sean's bachelor party (he was about to marry the Material Girl herself, Madonna): Kitten as the featured
stripper. As Kitten herself tells it "Harry Dean Stanton (the actor) arrived late, missing my performance. Penn
led him to me, picked up my blouse and said 'See what you missed?' shoving his face into my cleavage."
Now long retired she's devoting her time to her website, which can
be found on the LINKS page, and to writing her
autobiography. "I've been with some unbelievable men and have had pretty wild experiences. I think it would make
quite a story". In fact it would have to be "tops" on the bestseller list.
